Like a TNA Invasion angle, I have no idea where this is going. But we persevere through technical difficulties and general apathy. Thanks to the eleven Cagesiders who commented last week with their TOP THREE performers. Please do the same this week, and tell your friends. You can Vote for anyone, for any reason - whoever you think did the most for themselves with their performance on nationally televised (TNA and WWE) pro wrestling last week.
Your Votes were used to come up with a regular-looking Smark's Shoot Standings (S3). That list, the formula for developing it and an updated annual Standings are after the jump. There was some talk about a Vote for the worst performance of the week in one of the live blog threads last week - so go ahead and throw your thoughts on that into your comment and we'll figure out some way to tally it.
Remember, the Standings are for the previous week - the Labor Day edition of RAW, Impact from September 6th, the Smackdown episode that aired on the 7th and TNA's No Surrender Pay-Per-View (PPV).
Make YOUR mark, smarks!
Anger Management is a HIT!
The Kane, Daniel Bryan and Harold version, anyway. You smarks are definitely desirous of enlightenment. A few staples got Punk some love - what will hanging with Paul E do for him? AJ's stock is falling with us as quickly as the WWE Board of Directors, while the build to No Surrender earned props for a number of TNA stars.
The S3 - Week Ending September 2
1. Kane
2. Damien Sandow
3. Daniel Bryan
4. CM Punk
5. Samoa Joe
6. (tie) James Storm
6. (tie) Harold
8. (tie) Hulk Hogan
8. (tie) AJ Lee
8. (tie) Alberto Del Rio
For the new, improved(?) poll-free S3, I scored a first place vote as three points, a second as two and a third as one point...and then totaled each performer's points. I can publish that table if anyone's interested, but I kind of doubt it.
The weekly Standings are then awarded points in a similar fashion (ten for first through one for tenth) and those points are summed up to give us our annual S3. The latest version of which looks like this:
The S3 Performer of the Year - through the Week Ending Sept 2
1. CM Punk - 148.5 points
2. Daniel Bryan - 128.5
3. AJ Lee - 108
4. Austin Aries - 103
5. Dolph Ziggler - 76.5
6. Damien Sandow - 59.33
7. Chris Jericho - 53
8. Brock Lesnar - 45
9. Bobby Roode - 41
10. Alberto Del Rio - 34.2
September 3 - 9 started with Heyman and ended with Hardy. Whose stock rose? Who laid an egg?
