Dig it.
When Dusty Rhodes upset number two seed Sting in the second round of the Cageside Seats Pro Wrestling Tournament, it came as a bit of a surprise, if only because Rhodes was a seven seed without a major supporter like Sting had (sup, Pace). But his Cinderella run wasn't meant to last.
That's because he ran into Randy Savage in the Sweet Sixteen and the Macho Man blew him out of the water, scoring a 143-12 victory. It almost seems unusual to see a gap that large this late in the game but this speaks volumes to how beloved Savage continues to be amongst the pro wrestling fanbase.
This victory puts him in the Elite Eight, a fitting name considering who will make it there. Savage's victory means his next match will come against the winner of the Ric Flair vs. Ted DiBiase showdown. Remember to vote in that match-up later today.
After the jump, check out the vote tally list.
