On this date in WWF history: Bret Hart vs Mr. Perfect for the Intercontinental title at SummerSlam 1991

One of the great rivalries in the early 1990s, at least in terms of the quality of matches the two had together, was Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect. The main event scene may have been overpopulated with muscled up, glorified bodybuilders like Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior but the mid-card was brimming with talent who were routinely stealing the show.

Such was the case on this date in history (Aug. 26, 1991) when Hart and Perfect easily had the best match on the card at SummerSlam. Hart ultimately won the Intercontinental championship after a spirited, back-and-forth affair.
