WWE Raw results and live blog for Aug. 20: The SummerSlam fallout show

New Raw Logo

WWE Monday Night Raw comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Aug. 20, 2012) from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, and features all the fallout from the SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) event that took place last night in Los Angeles.

Brock Lesnar has defeated Triple H, seemingly snapping his arm once again and forcing "The Game" to submit to his dreaded double wrist lock. But Shawn Michaels has been a frustrated little tweety bird and has been talking of showing up via satellite.

This thing isn't over yet, folks.

CM Punk retained the WWE championship thanks to an assist from John Cena. It was a forced assist, of course, and that means these two probably aren't done feuding over the title. Or respect. Or whatever the hell their problem is this week.

Plus, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, and so much more.

Raw starts at 8 p.m. ET on USA, so be sure to make your way back here to chat with all your favorite Cagesiders during the show. It's always a fun time. Raw live blog after the jump.

Nolan in. Let's boogie!

Broadcast is live.

Lesnar in with Heyman to start us off.

Lesnar looking very happy as he enters. He walks around the ring and gives Heyman a happy handshake.

Recap of last night's HHH/Lesnar match.

Paul Heyman on the stick. Crowd boos him heavily as he tells the fans he understands how they feel because of the uncomfortable match last night. He says HHH's toughness wasn't enough and recalls his time as announcer when he called HHH's quad tear.

"A torn quad couldn't stop HHH...but Brock Lesnar could."

Heyman tells the crowd the result of last night's fight. He elaborates on what "tap out" means, saying HHH quit. He says HHH quit on his company, family, friends, and especially the fans. He says Lesnar made HHH suffer and that he left HHH a shell of a man.

"And I don't feel sorry for Triple H...and neither should any single one of you!"

Heyman explains to the crowd that this is the fight Trips wanted. Heyman now calls ref Scott Armstrong to the ring because Lesnar wants to address him.

Heyman repeats and repeats that he wants Scott Armstrong, who takes his time in showing up. He finally arrives and takes his sweet ol' time to get there, with which Heyman takes umbrage.

"My client does not bite!"

Heyman asks Armstrong if HHH wanted the rules to be bent and broken. They said Triple H's two words for last night were "tap out" and now Lesnar has two words for Armstrong.

"Good job."

Heyman dubs Lesnar the new king of kings and says the WWE is now in jeopardy. They are at the hands of the "Master of the Brocktagon." Awesome.

"Each and every one of you are now the loyal subjects to the lord and master of the WWE universe, Brock Lesnar!"

Heyman and Lesnar out and Lesnar waves to the masses.

We'll have Shawn Michaels live later tonight.

Some WWE stat that says SummerSlam was the most socially active thing on social media or something.

I'm so proud, guys.

CM Punk Touts that he'll be picking his opponent on RAW tonight.

And word is AJ is considering it.

Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, and Sin Cara vs. Cody Rhodes and The Prime Time Players

Kofi and Truth come out with Brawlin' Buddies toys to give away.

Interview last night shows Truth gave Little Jimmy a Gatorade bath.

Also, Kofi mentioned the dreaded "AW" during that promo.

Darren Young tried to afro-pick Cody Rhodes' hair. Love it.

Young and Kofi starting off. Lockups lead to Kofi with a side headlock, and he gets shoulder blocked by Young. Rope running by Young lets Kofi jump around a few times and land an elbow.

Truth in and they double team Kofi the Prime Time Players, while Sin Cara prevents a Rhodes run-in. He trips Rhodes to the outside and goes up top, but Rhodes goes up the ramp to evade.

The tag champs and Sin Cara in-ring, taunting their opposition. Young and O'Neil try to get in, but both get baseball slide kicks off the apron.

Commercial time!

Kofi and Young in-ring.

Truth in and he is taking it to Young with punches and kicks. Scissor kick gets him a nearfall.

Khole Kardashian is your social media ambassador, by the way.

Rhodes in and he gets a nearfall off a Russian legsweep. Cody with a front suplex. Stomp to the face of Truth.

Titus O'Neil in and gets stomps and a hard forearm in on Truth. Kick to the ribs gets a nearfall. He works a neck crank, but Truth fights out with punches to the midsection. Slap to O'Neil, but Truth eats a big boot from Titus.

Young in and O'Neil suplexes him onto Truth for a nearfall. Young now has the leg scissors around Truth's body and they exchange strikes. Young pushes Truth into his corner and tags in Titus. O'Neil shoulder butting Truth in the gut. Ref admonishes him, which allows Truth to get a few licks in on Young and O'Neil.

O'Neil stops that with a clothesline.

O'Neil goes to take out Kofi and Truth takes him out with a dropkick.

Hot tags bring in Cody and Sin Cara. Springboard elbow, hurricanrana, and kick from the apron combo from Sin Cara. Nearfall because Titus breaks it up, so Kofi and Truth dropkick Young and O'Neil. They both go to the outside. Kofi running at Truth on the ropes, who back bodydrops Kofi onto the Prime Time Players.

Sin Cara gets the victory for his team!

AJ backstage with Matt Striker.

Otunga pitches some woo for a job with AJ. He lists his legal representation credentials, but he says he'll file a lawsuit for anyone that calls her "crazy."

AJ isn't happy and tells him to prove himself in the ring tonight against an opponent of her choosing.

Back to the matter of CM Punk's Tout, to which AJ says Punk can choose anyone he wants...pending her approval!

Ryback vs. Mike Spinner (?) and Andy Tacares (?)

No graphic on those names, so that's guess work since I couldn't hear Chimel over Ryback's awful music.

Spinner goes over the top and Ryback is working Andy now. Punches and stomps. He then powerbombs Andy once. Then twice. Then three times.

Spinner on the ramp and he punches Ryback..."STUPID!" Ryback goes with a reverse suplex into the ring on Spinner.

Ryback aiming to finish them.

Jinder Mahal comes in and attacks Ryback from behind.

Mahal beats him down with punches and a knee to the back. Camel Clutch in, but Ryback struggles through and gets a jawbreaker on Mahal. Mahal scurries.

After staring Mahal down, he clotheslines Spinner. He then gets his finisher on the two poor local wrestlers and chants for the crowd.

Ziggler and Jericho backstage and Ziggler congratulates Jericho.

He then says Jericho needs to prove it wasn't a fluke and he needs to give him a rematch to prove he knows that he can win the big one.

Jericho lists his credentials and nicknames and says he knows he can win the big one.

AJ comes skipping in.

She gives them the rematch, but raises the stakes.

Ziggler's MITB will go to Jericho if he loses and Jericho's contract will be terminated if he loses.

Ziggler has second thoughts, but that seems too late.

Alberto Del Rio frustrated backstage and takes it out on Ricardo, yelling and slapping something out of his hands.

Seems ADR has something to say to us next!

An angry Alberto Del Rio is out and goes to the ring.

ADR says he deserves to be champion. He got robbed by the peasant Sheamus and the referee. They show the image of ADR's foot on the rope.

ADR says that he will not stand for this and demands a rematch.

Enter AJ...again.

ADR up top, but Orton crotches him on the top rope. Punch after punch to ADR and he mounts the turnbuckle. Superplex from Orton gets a nearfall.

Both men on their knees and Orton winning a punching exchage, but ADR breaks that with a kick to the arm. Orton just gets mad and does his clothesline, clothesline, powerslam series.

ADR going to the apron and time for the rope-assisted DDT. ADR back bodydrops him to the apron and gets an enzuigiri. Randy Orton with a neckbreaker. ADR continues with the kicks and punches to take over and sets up a cross armbreaker. Orton counters with a swinging neckbreaker for a nearfall.

Del Rio whipped into the corner, but Orton runs into an elbow. ADR on the top rope, but Orton punches him into a daze. Orton puts him down on the second turnbuckle and gets his rope-assisted DDT.

RKO time!

Ricardo on the apron and Sheamus chases him off. ADR gets a backstabber on Orton, who gets his foot on the rope. Sheamus is quick to point out to the referee that Orton has his foot on the ropes.

Ref breaks it and ADR is mad.

He turns into an RKO. One, two, three and Orton takes home a victory.

Sheamus laughs on the outside.

ADR and Ricardo exit in a tizzy.
