CM Punk loves being the WWE Champion, I mean, he's been at it for nearly 300 consecutive days now.
And that'll continue -- at least for tonight (Aug. 19) -- as he defeated both John Cena and The Big Show at SummerSlam in Los Angeles to retain the promotion's highest honor.
The three men battled back and forth until the champ secured his Anaconda Vice on Show which was followed by Cena locking in his STF submission hold. The big man tapped out but there was confusion as to whose maneuver he was giving up to.
As Punk and Cena argued, Raw General Manager AJ Lee made her way to the ring and announced... a restart!
This led to both men eating a chokeslam but Big Show failed to capitalize.
Moments later, Cena was able to drop the "Word's Largest Athlete" on his back. With Show out thanks to the Attitude Adjustment, Cena looked poised to win the strap but Punk tossed him to the outside and stole the pin for himself, sealing the deal.
Just like Columbo, Punk is smart as a tack.
