Alberto Del Rio has tried again and again to defeat Sheamus to become the new World Heavyweight Champion, and tonight looked like his best shot yet.
Yet, it wasn't in the cards for "The Mexican Aristocrat."
Del Rio came the closest he's ever been to picking up the victory over "The Great White" but still failed to seal the deal.
In a match filled with numerous near falls and a fabulous armbar reversal that saw Sheamus lift Del Rio straight up in the air and drop him like a sack of bricks, it was the ending that will leave everyone talking.
Ricardo Rodriguez jumped into the ring after Sheamus kicked out of a pinfall attempt. As the referee tried to make him leave the apron, Ricardo took off his own shoe and tossed it to Del Rio.
His aim was off, however, and it sailed right into the arms of Sheamus, who used it to smack Del Rio right in the head. Sheamus picked up the pinfall victory, but replays showed that Del Rio's foot was actually on the bottom rope.
It seems that this feud might not be over yet, with Del Rio having a legitimate complaint about how this match ended.
