He's The Miz and he's... aaaaaaawesome.
Not only that, he's also still the Intercontinental Champion.
That's because he defended the title he won from Christian at Raw 1000 against Rey Mysterio tonight at SummerSlam in Los Angeles.
The Miz took control of the match early and managed to survive several comebacks from the long-time fan favorite, eventually countering a top rope splash and parlaying it into a Skull Crushing Finale which led to the pinfall.
For The Miz, it's the latest step in his bid to restore prestige to the IC strap, a belt he says is an honor to hold as previous Hall of Famers like Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart and Mr. Perfect are all former titleholders.
With a win over former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Mysterio, he's doing just that.
Don't expect Mysterio to rest on his laurels too long. The world's biggest little man will assuredly bounce back from this loss.
