We are just a few hours away from the 25th anniversary of SummerSlam which takes place tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California for the fourth year in a row.
And so, let's just get to the match predictions!
SANTINO MARELLA VS. ANTONIO CESARO FOR THE US CHAMPIONSHIP (PRE-SHOW MATCH)
Although Aksana will no doubt try everything in the book to help her man win the US title, Marella's bag of tricks will be too much for the former Ring of Honor standout.
KOFI KINGSTON & R-TRUTH VS. PRIMETIME PLAYERS (WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP)
Not having heat magnet AW (who was recently released for his offensive comments regarding NBA star Kobe Bryant during a recent episode of RAW) will no doubt hurt the team of Titus O'Neil and Darren Young. As a result, look for R-Boom to retain.
REY MYSTERIO VS. THE MIZ (INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP)
I see Mr. Awesome as a transitional IC champion and while winning the IC title would put the Master of the 619 down a notch, it would help increase the prestige of the IC title. Thus, I'm taking Mysterio on this one.
CHRIS JERICHO VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER
Ziggler will no doubt have Vickie "Excuse Me" Guerrero at his side and expect Guerrero do help prevent Jericho from getting the victory
SHEAMUS VS. ALBERTO DEL RIO (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP)
Once again, I look for the Great White to emerge victorious. But I expect Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez to attack Sheamus, allowing Ziggler to cash in his MITB briefcase. But Ziggler's cash-in attempts are thwarted when Randy Orton comes out of nowhere and hits the RKO on Ziggler, thus beginning the Orton-Ziggler feud.
KANE VS. DANIEL BRYAN
Expect Charlie Sheen to taunt Bryan in this match, as Sheen's distraction will help the Big Red Monster get the pin.
CM PUNK VS. JOHN CENA VS. BIG SHOW (WWE CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH)
While Punk has held the WWE Championship since last year's Survivor Series, I expect his reign to finally come to an end.
With RAW expecting some serious competition from ESPN Monday Night NFL, USA Network will do absolutely anything to help elevate RAW into a top-rated show.
As a result, look for Cena to finally end Punk's reign at the top, prompting the return of Super Cena on Monday nights.
TRIPLE H VS. BROCK LESNAR
Now that Triple H will no longer have his friend Shawn Michaels at his side, Lesnar will have plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
I expect John Laurinaitis to make his return to television, where he and Paul Heyman will help Lesnar get the victory in this match that will no doubt be at least a half-hour long.
Although Sin Cara vs. Cody Rhodes and Brodus Clay vs. Damien Sandow are rumored to be taking place, I don't expect neither match to be taking place tonight as I expect the main matches to be very long.
