What do Dennis Rodman, Master P and David Arquette have in common? If you guessed that they are all national treasures, you are half right. The other half of the answer is that all three played a critical role in the "success" of World Championship (WCW). While WWE was getting Lawrence Taylor and "Iron" Mike Tyson to appear at WrestleMania, WCW was relying on Jay Leno to bring in new eyeballs to the product.
Eric Bischoff might say that is thinking "outside the box."
The WWE has never missed an opportunity to kick some more dirt on the grave of WCW. One just has to look at the YouTube show Are You Serious, where at least half of the program is devoted to WCW's missteps (#WCWRuinsEverything). And now WWE.com has published an article running down the list of the top 20 wildest celebrity appearances in WCW.
And it is not very flattering for the Atlanta based promotion.
Because we at Cageside are always a sucker for a good list (or a bad one, as the case often is), let's take a trip down memory lane and re-witness the hilarity that often came hand in hand with these cameos.
20. Beetlejucie
19. Arli$$
18. Mr. T
17, Megadeth
16. Reggie White
15. Will Sasso
14. The Misfits
13. Shaquille O'Neal
12. Master P
11. Kevin Greene
8. Chucky
7. Karl Malone
5. James Brown
4. Kiss
1. Robocop
What do you think of the list, Cagesiders? Does it bring back fond memories of the WCW, or perhaps these moments should be lost in time?
