WWE Smackdown comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Fri., Aug. 10, 2012) from Texas featuring a taped show on SyFy with Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio in the main event.

That's right, despite his claim that he wouldn't be competing again until Summerslam, Del Rio has repeatedly been booked in matches and he's booked in one tonight against the world heavyweight champion.

But wait ... this time the belt is on the line, so it's totally okay, you guys.

Other action on the night sees Chris Jericho welcome Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero to the Highlight Reel, Randy Orton take on Jack Swagger, and Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz in a non-title match.

WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG AUG. 10

Booker T out for his hometown. Houston, Texas, Booker is stoked.

Booker saying "Houston, we have a problem!"

Video package of Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus' car incident. This is probably the 100th time I've seen this video package this week.

Booker says he enjoyed seeing ADR squirm, but Sheamus needs to come apologize to the fans and ADR.

And "IT'S A SHAMEFUL THING!" blares.

Sheamus says ADR has tried to take away his dignity with insults, so he took his car. He said he had such a great time with ADR's car, including going to the Alamo and eating a burrito. Sheamus then apologizes to Booker, the WWE Universe, and Alberto Del Rio with a very smarmy face.

ADR enters.

He says that "we are not leaving this behind us." He says Sheamus is a peasant and a thief, a thug, and a criminal. ADR says he wants to go legal on The Great White, but Booker reminds him that if he takes it to court, Sheamus can't defend his title at Summerslam.

ADR is not pleased and says that it reflects on the GM if stuff like this goes down. He demands something be done.

Sheamus tells ADR not to ruffle his own feathers and that he'll put his title on the line against ADR TONIGHT! Booker loves it. ADR says his head says to wait and prepare for Summerslam, but he wants to do it tonight, "perro!"

"NOW CAN YOU DIG THAT, SUCKA?!"

Sin Cara vs. Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes notes he is no stranger to wearing masks himself, and he tells us that Sin Cara wears one because he is a coward and because there's nothing special about him under it.

Bell rings and we get the lighting.

Cody Rhodes single legs Sin Cara into the corner and smacks him.

Sin Cara doesn't like that and gets a rollup for a nearfall. Hurricanrana from Sin Cara. Cody Rhodes goes outside to regroup.

Baseball slide from Sin Cara, but he gets turned around and Rhodes tries to take the mask. They go back inside and Sin Cara goes for a springboard attack, but gets dropkicked and a nearfall.

Rhodes now using powerful offense with slams, punches, and forearms. Cody now with a backbreaker submission. Sin Cara with an armdrag and looking to build, but Cody stifles that. Rhodes now trying to get the mask again, but kicks to the leg from Sin Cara.

Springboard elbow from Sin Cara, and more kicks to follow. Flying armdrag from the corner for Sin Cara. Sin Cara with a kick over the top and a flying crossbody for a nearfall. Sin Cara goes forward and gets hit with a Rhodes forearm.

Rhodes is not impressed with the "stupid lights."

Rhodes now trying to grind Sin Cara down and Sin Cara counters with a crucifix into a pinning predicament. Not so fast, as Cody looking for the mask. He almost has it, but he eats some upkicks and gets rolled up.

Sin Cara gets the three count and the victory.

He waves his finger, saying Cody won't get the mask that easy.

Daniel Bryan is "NO!"ing everyone backstage and it looks like we'll see him after commercials.

"Flight of the Valkyries" hits and we come out to Daniel Bryan trying to "NO!" those fans chanting "YES!"

He mad.

"STOP CHANTING YES!"

Daniel Bryan is mad he isn't in the WWE Championship match and that he isn't just a catchphrase. He is mad AJ has abused her power upon him after the failed marriage attempt.

"DO I DESERVE THAT? THE ANSWER IS NO! NO! NO!"

Bryan says he deserves more than to be insulted. He says he deserves more than to be "walked all over by a skipping, Chucks-wearing broad in a powersuit and her oversized, Frankenstein boytoy."

Awesome.

Enter Kane.

Both men look ready to go, but AJ is here!

AJ says for Daniel to not leave the ring. She says she knows Bryan is shocked to see her on Smackdown, but that's where they first met. She says she is a special guest and she booked Kane and Bryan because they are great athletes. However, she can't both men attacking the audience or each other every week.

AJ says it is really good to see Kane again. She says she never got a chance to tell him how sweet and understanding Kane was to her.

She turns to Bryan and she knows Bryan doesn't like her friendship with Kane or the fact he has never pinned Kane. She offers him a chance to his sanity by shaking Kane's hand and being a good sport.

"NO! NO! NO!"

AJ says she wants a clean fight at Summerslam.

"NO!"

"Shake on it."

"NO! NO! NO!"

"NOW, Daniel."

Bryan extends his hand and tells Kane to "shake his hand." And Kane responds with an uppercut. Kane with punches in the corner, but Bryan counters with leg kicks. Kane going for the chokeslam, but Bryan looking for the "NO!" lock. Kane whips him into the corner for a big boot. Bryan escapes through the crowd and Kane goes back to the ring.

AJ is on the ramp, on her knees laughing. "THAT WAS GREAT!"

Kane looks befuddled, but AJ looking sexy.

Teddy Long and Booker talking.

Enter Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks. They want an opportunity.

Booker says he's been watching them, but they need to step it up. Booker wants A+ talent and nothing else will do.

Tyler Reks tells Curt Hawkins he can't go back to his old job. They try to talk to Booker again, but Booker flies off the handle and they flee.

Jinder Mahal vs. Two Jobbers

Mahal says he has something to prove and wants to make an impact. He wants to be better than Ryback.

He spinebusters one jobber then gets the Camel Clutch. Jobber taps and Mahal wins.

Mahal now pulling a double Camel Clutch.

Enter Ryback.

Exit Mahal.

Ryback looks at the jobbers, then hits the Shell Shocked on both.

"FEED ME MORE!" chants from the fans as Ryback stares down Mahal on the ramp.

Time for Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel.

"WELCOME TO THE HIGHLIGHT REEL!"

Jericho introduces...

"EXCUSE ME!"

Vickie is here and informs Jericho that Ziggler would not lower himself to the Highlight Reel. Vickie will speak on his behalf.

Jericho says he is flexible, and he will gladly talk to "Ziggler's mother." He apologizes, and he says that she looks good for someone "her age."

They get into an "EXCUSE ME!" scream-down, which Vickie wins. Jericho says his brain hurts and for her to stop. Vickie says one more insult and she will walk off. Jericho taunts her.

"You'll walk off? YOU'LL WALKOFF?...then get the hell out."

He invites her back and rolls footage from the Alex Riley-Chris Jericho match on the "Jeritron 6000."

He says he had the best Tout ever.

Jericho says Ziggler's record is worse than Vickie's dyejob. Vickie says this is why Ziggler doesn't care about Jericho. She essentially calls Jericho washed-up.

Jericho gets serious and says his legacy stands. He says he's bringing back Y2J and "HE'S BACK, BABY!" He says he's gonna prove to "Ziggy" and all the Jerichoholics that he hasn't lost his touch and he "never....EVVVVVVVVERRRRRRR" will "uh-gain!"

Ziggler comes from behind with the briefcase, but Jericho ducks him and beats him a little. He turns into a HARD Vickie slap, saying she can't talk to him like that. Zigzag from Ziggler. He waits for Jericho to get up and cracks him with the MITB briefcase.

Maniacal laugh from Vickie and Ziggler stands over a KO'd Jericho.

Exit Vickie and Zigs.

The Prime Time Players vs. Primo and Epico

AW is out to present The Prime Time Players one last time.

Pour one out for good ol' Abraham Washington. We'll miss you.

Lockup between Epico and Darren Young. Young with a big shoulder block.

Titus O'Neil in. He's using power offense to beat up on Epico.

Young in, but O'Neil is kicked back into Young. Epico scrambles to tag in Primo and Primo unleashing punches and high-flying shenanigans on Darren Young.

Primo with a beautiful flying DDT.

At ringside, AW throws water on Truth and Kofi, and they chase him into the ring. Truth and Kofi proceed to beat down AW and The Prime Time Players.

They win by DQ and Primo and Epico are not pleased with Truth/Kofi.

Antonio Cesaro (w/ Aksana) vs. Christian

Cesaro speaks to us in five different languages, reciting the word "victory." Cesaro then rattles off a phrase in Swiss, I imagine. He then says "if you don't understand that...that's the point."

Brilliant.

Commercials before the match.

Match is on. Lockup is ducked under by Christian, gets the back, but Cesaro working punches. Christian leapfrogs over Cesaro, who catches the ropes off the Irish whip. Christian tosses him over the top.

Christian looking for a baseball slide, but Cesaro moves out of the way and gets a knee to gut of Christian. Cesaro tosses Christian into the steel steps.

In-ring and sleeper by Cesaro. Punches to the kidneys of Christian. Karelin lift into a suplex from Cesaro. Christian hung on the middle rope, Cesaro walks outside, and hits the European uppercut.

Going up top, Cesaro comes down on Christian's boots. Christian taking advantage with a forearm. Christian looking for the Killswitch, countered by Cesaro. Christian counters for a rollup and a nearfall.

Cesaro now with a fallaway slam with a bridge for a nearfall. They go into the corner and Christian looking for a Killswitch, countered by Cesaro, then countered into a reverse DDT for Christian.

Christian looking for a spear, but he gets lifted into the air and gets smashed with a European uppercut. Cesaro now looking to finish, but Christian ducks under and gets a spear.

Cover and victory for Christian!

Christian goes to the top to celebrate, and Cesaro knocks him off as Aksana distracts Christian. Cesaro picks Christian up in fallaway slam position and runs him spine first into the barricade.

Ouch.

RAW Rebound features Bryan vs. Cena and the ensuing drama.

Eve backstage with Booker. She wants a position, but Booker has no jobs.

Teddy enters with Kaitlyn and she wants to be an assistant. Booker accepts this wholeheartedly.

Eve wants to go to the board of directors with a discrimination suit. Booker calms everyone and has an idea: Kaitlyn vs. Eve next week to be Booker's assistant.

Both accept. Moving on...

Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz

Miz locking up and outpowering Mysterio.

Stomps from Miz. Mysterio countering with quickness and kicks. Miz runs into an elbow. Springboard moonsault from Mysterio is caught by Miz, who hits a reverse neckbreaker. He then chucks Mysterio out of the ring.

Brings him back in and nearfall. Knee to the back, then boot to the face of Mysterio. Another nearfall. Sleeper hold from Miz.

Mysterio fighting out, but gets clotheslined after running the ropes. Miz now getting the clothesline sitdown in the corner. Going up top, but eats a dropkick on the way down. Mysterio with a facebuster, kick to the face, and nearfall.

Mysterio going up top, but Miz stops that. Mixup up top leads to nothing, but boot from Miz. Mysterio pushing the pace and fighting back.

Mysterio gets Miz set up for a 619, Miz counters, but this leads to a rollup from Mysterio.

Mysterio with the pin and the victory.

Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio

Ricardo with an intro after both men enter.

Lilian does Sheamus' intro.

Police come in for Sheamus as Alberto Del Rio says the he never filed a report on Sheamus!

Sheamus now attacks the cops, who were just hired guns for Del Rio.

They eventually overwhelm Sheamus and hold him in the corner, beating him down. Del Rio attacks Sheamus as they hold him. Del Rio doesn't need them anymore as he taunts Sheamus, then locks in the cross armbreaker.

Sheamus is down and out and Del Rio stands tall.
