Holy crap, there is so much indie wrestling going on right now.
Now that Raw 1000 has come and gone, we can focus on more important matters like WHY DID ACH LOSE THE ACW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP?!
And OHMYGOD ARE WE GOING TO ACTUALLY SEE JOHNNY GARGANO AND AKIRA TOZAWA TOMORROW NIGHT?!
The answers to those questions are "I don't know" and "hell yes." The latter depends on if you are ordering Untouchable 2012, the first of Dragon Gate USA's doubleshot of shows this weekend.
The second is Enter the Dragon 2012: Third Anniversary Celebration and features Tozawa against El Generico. Oh, be still my beating heart.
Both shows are available for order here and can cost you as little as 20 bucks for both.
That's a hell of a deal.
But enough chit chat, let's get down to brass tacks!
For indie wrestling goodness after the jump!
Ring of Honor
The biggest news coming out of ROH this week is next month's Boiling Point event will now be LIVE on iPPV! Featuring a main event of World Champion Kevin Steen defending against CHIKARA Grand Champion Eddie Kingston, the promotion made a wise choice to make this available to fans worldwide.
And so far, six teams have been announced for the tag team tournament to crown new champions.
- Lancelot & Harlem Bravado
- The Briscoes
- The Young Bucks
- BLKOUT
- The Guardians of Truth
- Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander
Which two teams will fill the remaining slots?
CHIKARA
SARA DEL REY~! I'm stoked "The Queen of Wrestling" is getting a shot at the Grand Championship this weekend even if she is WWE-bound. Usually this means, as in the case of Brodie Lee, the challenger will come up short but who knows what CHIKARA has up their sleeves.
My Cageside colleague Thomas Holzerman has an EXCELLENT piece regarding this weekend on his own site, The Wrestling Blog, so if you're as much a CHIKARA fanatic as the two of us or if you're trying to figure out what all the hubbub is about, check it out.

Anarchy Championship Wrestling
This past Sunday, at From Innocence to Insanity 6, ACH lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Jaykus Plisken. I know, I know, I'm heartbroken too. I hope this is and isn't an indication that ACH won't be featured as prominently in the Texas promotion.
Is because the entire world needs to know how awesome ACH is and isn't because that means I won't get to see him live as often.
Barbi Hayden also captured the American Joshi Championship in a four-way match and the team of Davey Vega and Matthew Palmer won the tag team straps in another four-way match. That one had ladders, though.
ACH will get his rematch August 5 at Fall From Grace but it'll be a three-way with Rachel Summerlyn, fresh off a win over Lady Poison, getting a crack at Plisken's recently won belt.
Pro Wrestling Guerilla
Threemendous III went down last weekend and saw Kevin Steen defend his title against Willie Mack and Super Smash Brothers defend their titles against The Young Bucks and Future Shock in a ladder match.
Tag team ladder matches were all the rage last weekend!
Michael Elgin defeated Sami Callihan and TNA outcast Joey Ryan picked up a win using what else but the Tazzmission to finish off Famous B.
The California promotion returns the first weekend of Septemeber with their annual Battle of Los Angeles tournament.
Some first round match-ups have already been announced -- including a left coast rematch of Davey Richards and Michael Elgin -- and we'll keep you updated on the entire card as it draws near.
That's it for this week, Cagesiders. How'd ya like that?
