They used to be such good friends.
Leading up to Ring of Honor's 10th Anniversary Show, Kevin Steen and CHIKARA Grand Champion Kevin Steen shared a jovial friendship on Twitter, going back and forth as old friends often do.
Even my Cageside colleague Thomas Holzerman pointed out, "This budding bromance between [Steen] and [Kingston] warms the cockles of my heart" to which Kingston replied, "Been like this since 05."
That all changed on March 4 in New York City.
It was then when Kingston, invited by ROH officials, was confronted by Steen and asked to destroy their respective promotions only to rebuild them in their visions.
Kingston balked at the idea. CHIKARA was his home. He didn't want to destroy it. He was willing to die for it. Steen insults the Grand Champion's employer and all hell broke loose.
They met inside the CHIKARA ring this past April during the ROH/CHIKARA Synergy event during Hot Off the Griddle. This week's Podcast-A-Go-Go takes a look at the bou as well as F.I.S.T. regaining the Campeonatos de Parejas from 3.0, the team who beat them for the belts.
