In a little over 48 hours, WWE Raw ill be celebrating its historic 1,000th episode in a very special three-hour episode that will mark a new era in WWE programming.
The show will feature a D-Generation X reunion, Daniel Bryan & A.J.'s wedding, appearances by past and present WWE Superstars and Divas, the naming of a new General Manager, and John Cena cashing in his newly-won Money in the Bank briefcase against CM Punk for the WWE Championship.
But enough about what will be on the show. What can we expect to NOT be on it?
Unfortunately, not every WWE Superstar and Diva will be appearing on Raw 1000 as several top Superstars are currently without any direction whatsoever after last Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) and so, let's look at these top five Superstars who will likely absent on Raw's milestone show.
Randy Orton and David Otunga were not included due to suspension and movie filming, respectively.
Take a look at the list after the jump.
1. Cody Rhodes: After he failed to win the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank ladder match this past Sunday, Rhodes was relegated to competing on WWE Superstars against Alex Riley and not appearing on neither RAW or Smackdown this week. He doesn't have a current storyline now that his feud with Christian is over for the time being. I expect Christian to face maybe Tensai for the Intercontinental Championship on Monday rendering Rhodes an afterthought.
2. Layla: The current Divas champion hasn't done much since returning from a year-long injury at the Extreme Rules PPV last April. Instead, the focus is on A.J. and Eve Torres at the moment.
3. Santino Marella: Like Rhodes, the "Milan Miracle" also finds himself without any storyline as he too was demoted to WWE Superstars against Jinder Mahal. But it is possible for Marella to appear in a backstage segment without being in a match.
4. Zack Ryder: Unlike Rhodes and Marella, Ryder does have a potential storyline with Damien Sandow as it was evident on the July 3rd episode of Smackdown. But then again, the "Long Island Loudmouth" did job to Alberto Del Rio on RAW last Monday which saw the return Rey Mysterio.
5. Jack Swagger: Things haven't gone well for the All-American American as of late as he went to being a World Heavyweight Champion in 2010 to wrestling red-hot Ryback on RAW last Monday. On the other side of the spectrum, his former teammate Dolph Ziggler is "Mr. Money in the Bank" for the time being -- but not if Chris Jericho has his way.
