My Money in the Bank predictions

200px-money_in_the_bank_2012_medium

The third annual Money in the Bank PPV will be taking place on Sunday, July 15 at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Meanwhile, here is the card and my predictions on what will happen.

PRE-SHOW MATCH

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. Hunico & Camacho

I was shocked when I found out that Air Truth wouldn't be defending their titles at the actual Money in the Bank PPV against the Primetime Players and are instead facing the "Mexican America" wannabes Hunico and Camacho on YouTube instead. Anyway, I expect Air Truth to retain.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MITB LADDER MATCH

Cody Rhodes vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Sin Cara vs. Damien Sandow vs. Christian vs. Santino Marella vs. Tyson Kidd vs. Tensai

Sin Cara, Sandow, Kidd, Marella, and Tensai are essentially filler participants. My gut feeling tells me that it will be a tossup between Ziggler and Rhodes with Christian being a longshot. In the end, I expect the Christian-Rhodes feud to continue until SummerSlam at the very least which will result in Ziggler being the likely winner.

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP

Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio has been showing his aggressive as of late when he attacked the Celtic Warrior with the hood of one of his many fancy cars last week on RAW. But the Great White will still find a way to retain the title.

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MITB LADDER MATCH

John Cena vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kane vs. Big Show

This is too close to call, but given that CM Punk vs. Cena for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam is a likely possibly, it seems fitting that a heel would win this match. Two men that fit the bill are Jericho and the Big Show, with the latter being the likely choice to win the briefcase.

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP WITH AJ AS SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE

CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan

Punk has held the WWE Championship since last November. Bryan will no doubt makes things interesting, but expect A.J. to rule the match in Punk's favor.

OTHER POSSIBLE MATCHES

With only four matches on the card, expect the WWE to continue the trend of having unannounced matches on the Money in the Bank PPV. Possible matches include Brodus Clay vs. Jack Swagger, Ryback vs. Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks, and maybe a segment with Heath Slater but no Divas match. Instead, I expect the Divas Championship to be defended on the 1000th episode of RAW.
