New General Managers! Control of Raw and SmackDown! A New Universal Order!

Everything is up in the air on Raw and SmackDown. And while chaos is generally an exciting tool, the WWE often fails to utilize it effectively. It always ends up the same old story. They are shuffling in old General Mangers until the big reveal that could possibly take place on the 1000th episode (July 11). It seems that they are building up to something, a new beginning, a massive makeover that will change the landscape of the WWE.

Yet it feels empty, doesn't it? When Cena can determine the destiny of who "controls" Raw and SmackDown, the title of General Manager just feels empty. Unless they bring in a name with some real clout (cough John Bradshaw Layfield cough), it will just be another person for Cena to either ignore or deliver an Attitude Adjustment on. So how can we fix that?

John Cena for General Manager.

As much as I hate fantasy booking, think about the possibilities. He is already above the show. So why not give him a true title for him to fight for? The GM is generally a heel role, with the power too much to leave its holder uncorrupted. Cena struggling to stay true to himself would make for excellent television. It's outside of the box, and it would be amazing to watch.

And yes, I know it will never happen.

Vicki Guerrero will take the reigns this week, so expect Dolph Ziggler to continue his main event push. The next few weeks are up in the air, and we'll see whom they trot out (Anonymous GM or riot). And then we will have a permanent GM, and everything will go back to normal.

The rest of the show after the jump.

Punk! Bryan! Kane! AJ! Love! Obsession! WWE Championship!

Just when I thought the feud couldn't get any better, WWE continues to impress. This is what professional wrestling should be. A tale of morality and destiny, of victory and happiness. CM Punk is the WWE Champion and one of the top stars of the WWE. But now he has become part of the system he claimed to rally against. Daniel Bryan achieved his goal of becoming World Heavyweight Champion and winning the hand of AJ. Yet his arrogance has caused him to lose both. Kane, "The Devil's favorite demon," was seemed to be doomed to a life of evil. However, even the most evil of monsters have a bit of good inside of them.

Finally, we have the lovely AJ. From innocent girl, to abused girlfriend, to deranged stalker, to a woman who is taking life into her own hands. Maybe the most developed character on the WWE roster, she has grown up and evolved before our very eyes. No longer content with dating those who don't want her, AJ is now on a mission to win the cold heart of Kane. Questions of love, of fate, of destiny and of self confidence are all being asked. There really is a beauty in this story that gets lost within the "I dig crazy chicks" narrative, and it's a shame. I can only hope all the players involved continue their great work moving forward.

Trips! Lesnar! Heyman! Lawsuits! Con! Fron! Tation!

Oh it has been far too long, hasn't it? Have you missed 30 minute of dialogue, repeating the same points over and over? How about discussions about "The Business" and those feelings you're feeling? Well, like it or not, we're going to get a full onslaught of it from now till SummerSlam (August 19), so you might as well learn to love it. Paul Heyman continues to be an amazing mouthpiece for Brock Lesnar, and Triple H still plays to the crowd in the audience instead of those at home. This will have ups and downs, but let there be no doubt that the match at SummerSlam will be great. And while most assume "The Game" will be picking up the win, it should still be extremely entertaining. There is 8 weeks between now and then. Get psyched!

Truth and Kofi! Prime Time Players! The Usos! Primo and Epico! Tag Teams?

There have been rumors that the WWE has started to develop a real tag team division, with storylines and characters and everything. While the fabled "Tag Team Division" is thought to be extinct, there are those that insist a present day incarnation will show itself. Only time will tell. Stay tuned to CageSide Seats for this developing story.
