For those wondering the fate of the TNA X-Division Championship currently wrapped around Austin Aries' waist, ponder no more.

According to the champion himself, he's going to hang onto the title as a bit of insurance going into his TNA World Heavyweight Title match against Bobby Roode at Destination X.

Per his Twitter:

To be clear: I will vacate my X-Division Championship for a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Destination X. HOWEVER........ I will officially keep my title until July 8th, the day of the PPV, to keep my collateral and guard against being left empty handed......if shenanigans try to prevent my World Title shot, like @REALBobbyRoode catching Chickenpox or excessively pulling his groin until blind.

I guess "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" subscribes to the old wives' tale that diddling yourself will make you go blind.

Regardless, the only question which remains is exactly how TNA will crown a new X-Division Champion after Aries vacates the title.

Ultimate X match? Battle royal? A game of strip paper-rock-scissors?

I'm down for the third option is SoCal Val and Christy Hemme are involved. Not so much Taz or Joseph Park, Esq. though.

And once they decide how to crown a new champ, who will take up the mantle?
