Despite Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling saying the Bound for Glory (BFG) Series would consist of matches on Impact, pay-per-views (PPV) and even house shows, so far they've only had live television matches over the last two weeks affect the standings.
And now that tonight's (June 21, 2012) edition of Impact is in the books, let's update the standings:
- James Storm -- 27 points
- Kurt Angle -- 10 points
- Jeff Hardy -- 7 points
- Mr. Anderson -- 7 points
- Magnus -- 7 points
- D'Angelo Dinero -- 7 points
- Christopher Daniels -- 0 points
- AJ Styles -- 0 points
- Bully Ray -- 0 points
- Robbie E -- 0 points
- Samoa Joe -- 0 points
- Rob Van Dam -- 0 points
Storm earned his first 20 by winning the battle royal to announce the 12 participants. He got seven more by pinning Joe on tonight's episode of Impact. Angle submitted Robbie E to earn his points, Magnus stole one from Styles, Dinero had help from Abyss to defeat Ray, Hardy went over clean on RVD, and Anderson defeated Daniels.
The Open Fight Night concept -- which is still a little silly -- worked out quite well in ensuring that every guy in the Series got at least one match against another. Now as long as they keep track of who works with who, this round robin idea should work out just fine.
And, hopefully, they find a way to cast doubt on Storm just running away with this thing.
