CSS Pro Wrestling Tournament Match: (8) Ricky Steamboat vs (9) Junkyard Dog

Bracket artwork by: June M. Williams

The Cageside Seats (CSS) Pro Wrestling Tournament continues today with a match-up pitting number eight seed Ricky Steamboat against number nine seed Junkyard Dog.

When it comes to workrate and ability between the ropes, it's hard to match Steamboat. He was the guy you went to when you needed a great match against just about anybody. His best work, however, came in the late 80s and early 90s in memorable feuds with Ric Flair and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. In fact, his match against Savage at WrestleMania 3 is still held in high esteem as one of the greatest matches of all time.

Junkyard Dog is remembered for being a charismatic big man who could move and had a memorable gimmick. The dog collar and chain made him instantly recognizable and instantly beloved amongst fans. He wasn't the type to win a lot of championships but if you mention the letters J, Y, and D, pro wrestling fans of today who may not have even seen him work much will likely bring his name to mind.

These two have crossed paths a few times during their careers but now you Cagesiders get to decide who should go over in the ultimate showdown.
