During last night's (Fri., June 1, 2012) episode of Smackdown, CM Punk defended his WWE championship against Kane in what was actually a decent match. Before it could end, though, Daniel Bryan interfered and caused a double disqualification.
Naturally, this led to John Laurinaitis making his way out to book the three in a triple threat match at the No Way Out pay-per-view (PPV) event on June 17, 2012, at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, for Punk's title.
A large segment of the fanbase may not like the inclusion of Kane in the match, with the thinking that he will just drag Punk and Bryan down to his level. But the way the story as played out actually makes sense, with both Punk and Bryan using Kane as a pawn in their games against each other and Kane finally snapping and going after the both of them.
Perhaps it won't be a five-star classic now but at least it will properly service the storyline. And isn't that what we all want, really? And hey, Randy Orton got a few damn good matches out of Kane; what's to say two better wrestlers can't do the same?
After the jump, get a look at the updated No Way Out 2012 match card and line up.
WWE NO WAY OUT 2012 MATCH CARD

-- Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio for the world heavyweight championship
