Last night's (June 18, 2012) episode of Monday Night Raw saw the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) return of both Cyndi Lauper and Rowdy Roddy Piper.
And it was kind of great.
Sure, the crowd wasn't particularly hot for an entertainer they probably no longer recognize, if they ever did, and a wrestler who hasn't wrestled in forever. But everyone involved in the segment looked like they were having entirely too much fun doing their thing inside that ring, including Heath Slater, who was probably just happy to get a segment on Raw that didn't include getting squashed by a dinosaur.
Even if he got buried by Lauper with her awesome "who are you" line.
It should be noted that Michael Cole was especially terrible and we can all blame Vince McMahon and his lack of appreciation for the bigger stars of times past who helped build his company into the juggernaut it would become. Kind of sad, really, but that's what we have to deal with.
Anyway, it was good, even if it ran a bit long.
