Wow, this really sucks.
Chris Sabin, who recently came back from a year-long injury rehabilition, looks to be back on the shelf for another months-long stint.
The former Murder City Machine Gun landed awkwardly during last night's (June 14) Ultimate X match and immediately began clutching his knee. While many fans hoped it was part of the match, reports soon flooded the monsterweb that this wasn't the case.
Sabin was legitimately injured and it looked pretty bad.
Now TNA President Dixie Carter has confirmed the worst:
Chris Sabin tore his ACL in last night's Ultimate X match on Impact. He's obviously frustrated but determined to come back ASAP.
From all accounts, it appears as if the injury is to the "good" knee as in, not the knee Sabin had injured previously.
Rumors were circulating he and off-screen main squeeze Velvet Sky might be on their way out of the promotion, perhaps joining former tag team partner Alex Shelley wherever he ends up.
Unfortunately for the former X-Division Champion, he won't be competing inside any ring for quite some time.
We here at Cageside want to wish Sabin a speedy recovery.
