What does a shameless self promoter like Chris Jericho do when he's suspended for 30 days by WWE for an ill advised ad lib spot where he denigrated the Brazilian flag before a match with CM Punk to get heel heat in a country where unbeknownst to him such an act is illegal? He sends mixed messages on Twitter by teasing that he's done with the company, while cryptically counting down the days until he's free to return to WWE. It all started on 27th May with this strange tweet:
27-My Dads number when he played in the NHL. Also my ranking in the top 50 WCW superstars of all time. Also today's date.
Ever since then he's been doing number related factoids, often about himself, on a daily basis, getting to unlucky number thirteen today:
Jason Voorhees was the killer in the Friday The 13th movies. 13 is the name of the new Megadeth album. I have 13 black socks...
So what does this mean? Something or nothing, because Jericho always likes to keep his fans guessing, so this could just be a ruse to get everyone thinking he's returning in two weeks time on the June 24th Raw when he's actually not planning to come back straight away.
However, Dave Meltzer on his June 9th subscriber only radio show, said that although he's not being advertised to return, as things stand he will be back starting with the June 22nd Raw brand house show. This shouldn't be too surprising, as even though Jericho will have to take off soon thereafter due to touring with his band Fozzy in August, the WWE roster is already stretched thin thanks to Randy Orton's suspension and all hands are needed on deck for the 1000th episode of Raw to kickstart the change to a three hour format. WWE can't afford for Jericho to be out any longer than necessary under the present circumstances, even if he'll only be around for a cup of coffee and to close loose ends before his planned working vacation.
