Concussion? Photo via WWE.
As reported yesterday, WWE officials were worried their World Heavyweight Championship challenger for next Sunday's (June 17) No Way Out pay-per-view, Alberto Del Rio, suffered a concussion during a brawl with Sheamus at the last Smackdown television tapings.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer opined on yesterday's radio show if Del Rio was pulled from last night's Smackdown house show on the east coast, then the concussion stories are likely true and his participation in No Way Out would be in question.
And that's exactly what happened.
The Mexican Superstar was not present last night in Salisbury, MD and the planned cage match main event against Sheamus was amended to accommodate the winner earlier in the evening between Kane and Great Khali.
If Del Rio will be, in fact, pulled from his match in seven day's time, you can be sure the issue will be addressed during tomorrow's (June 11) three-hour Raw which will see the return of Vince McMahon.
