Don't expect to see The Rock again before the year is out.
That's because "The Great One" revealed to a fan on his Twitter account that World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has asked him to come back at the beginning of next year.
"They asked I come back start of 2013," he tweeted. "Have 3 films to shoot so trying to make it work. Miss that electricity though man."
Before Rock left this past April, he teased fans by saying he would one day walk the aisle once again as WWE champion, leading many to believe he would immediately enter into a program for that title once he comes back. It's ambitious to think as much but what are the chances his early 2013 return would be a surprise entrance in the Royal Rumble? And perhaps a victory leading to a world title match at WrestleMania 29 where he's already promised to compete?
There's a lot to consider, of course, outside of Rock and what his plans are. A rematch with John Cena is still a possibility, though it seems difficult to imagine they could top what they were able to do at WrestleMania 28. A big money match against Brock Lesnar is also a possibility, if he's still around April 7, 2013.
Any of you Cagesiders care to fantasy book Rock's return to WWE, assuming he's being completely honest and it happens early next year?
