Looks like all you G.I. Joe fans are going to have to wait a while longer for that highly anticipated sequel.
Deadline.com has the skinny on some big news that could potentially affect The Rock while he's gearing up for his next big match with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE):
The sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation was supposed to come out this summer on June 29th. But I've learned that Paramount is moving the movie nine months to March 29, 2013, to add 3D. "We're going to do a conscientious 3D job because we've seen how it can better box office internationally," one of the studio execs just told me.
Outside of action movie buffs getting all up in a fuss about having to wait almost an entire year for a release they thought would come next month, this calls into question how active Rock will be in the lead up to his match at WrestleMania 29, which is scheduled for April 7, 2012, in New Jersey.
That's just one week after the release of G.I. Joe 2.
The Rock is a machine, of course, so it's unlikely this will cause enough of an issue to even matter. He'll likely only be booked for Raw shows and he was shooting movies during his run up to WrestleMania 28 this past year, so it shouldn't be a big problem.
