Welcome back to the Precap, AJ (via WWE.com)
The first episode of WWE Monday Night Raw after a pay-per-view (PPV) is always hell to write for, so get ready for a bite-sized Precap today. And remember folks; it’s not the size of the ship that matters, but the motion of the ocean. (Editor's note: That's not what she said.)
Well last night (Sun., May 20, 2012) unfortunately happened, didn’t it? Just a damn shame. John Laurinaitis was left as a cowering mess. Big Show goes from genuine fan favorite to another generic monster rule breaker. And John Cena remains John Cena, a bully acting like he has to constantly overcome hardships. If I was 6 or 7 years old and had just started watching wrestling, I could see how last night would have been shocking to me. But when 90% of the audience has outgrown garbage like that then it seems to be a bit useless. Are they trying to get us to side with Cena? Do they even care anymore?
We went from a solid feud with The Rock, to an amazing program with Brock Lesnar, to this crap. And now we’re going to get Cena vs. Big Show at No Way Out. I love Show. I think he fills a position in the midcard or as a transition champion. But this is not his role. No, it’s not Lord Tensai. But it’s not much better. Maybe low expectations will make this an enjoyable storyline. We can only hope as such.
The rest of the show after the jump.
At the end of an amazing match, we get a weird finish where CM Punk taps out just after the ref counts to three. Whereas Geno is disappointed, I personally enjoyed it. There was no build up, no real feud, nothing established between the Punk and Daniel Bryan besides that they both came up through Ring of Honor. It makes sense that an unsatisfying build leads to an unsatisfying finish. The possibility of these two getting another match sooner than later is always a good thing, as well. We have a heel GM of Raw in Laurinaitis, who has an established beef with Punk. Johnny Ace comes out, says that the people want a rematch after an unclean finish, and boom, rematch. My only fear is that this makes too much sense, and we all know what happens there (#WWELogic).
Hopefully this has helped get you prepared for the nights activities.
