One of the things that always amazed me about World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) production team is they're often given very little to work with and still produce such amazing work, as you can see above.
However, watching this preview video promo for the Over the Limit pay-per-view (PPV) this Sunday night (May 20, 2012) in Raleigh, North Carolina, I can't help but feel like I'm watching the wrong players in this act. We knew we would eventually get a match featuring John Laurinaitis but John Cena wasn't supposed to be the other guy. That was supposed to be CM Punk.
It's also somewhat disappointing that WWE seems to have dropped the connection with Lord Tensai. Usual dirt sheet speculation says that's because he's been failing to get over and perhaps that's true. After all, he didn't even appear on the go-home Raw show this past Monday, relegated instead to working a throwaway match on Superstars.
Maybe Big Show has become his replacement and will turn heel this weekend for the 809th time in his career. Or maybe we're all off in our predictions and Laurinaitis vs. Cena will be a clean match that goes 20 minutes and sees a satisfying end.
Either way, it's time to admit they've done a fairly impressive job here of drumming up interest, despite all the shortcomings of this feud.
