During last night's Raw, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry announced on his Twitter he was due for surgery today.
This isn't surprising as Henry worked through a couple of different injuries during his reign as king of Smackdown but never took any extended time off.
What is surprising is Henry's promise to leave WWE and retire if he can't return to his "Hall of Pain" form.
From the man himself:
"Tomorrow I go under the knife. When I return I will be the fire breathing, pain inflicting, face melting better than ever Mark Henry! Listen up! IF NOT! I will walk away. I have to much PRIDE to not deface any one in the WWE. The Hall of Pain is open for business!"
At 40 years of age with over a decade and a half in the business under his belt, no one would blame Henry for walking away now and calling it a day.
It would be disappointing for a lot of fans as he finally -- and I do mean FINALLY -- came into his own as a performer and really impressed during his run as champion last year.
A former comedy act as "Sexual Chocolate" better known for boning down with Mae Young and producing a hand, Henry opened the "Hall of Pain" and became a dominant monster rulebreaker before losing the belt to The Big Show at last December's TLC pay-per-view.
Will we see Henry inside a WWE ring again?
