Wrestler Wrankings: 2012-2013 Season, Week 6

Wrankingslogo_medium

Welcome to Wrestler Wrankings, the weekly sports column that scores the purest form of sport currently gracing our planet ... professional wrestling.

Sheamus was incredible last week. Starting with a mere two points, he dominated the competition with the biggest point total we've seen so far. He pulled maximum points (7.5) at Extreme Rules by winning his World Heavyweight Title bout against Daniel Bryan. Then, without competing on RAW, he was credited with two big wins on Smackdown for four additional points. Of course, Sheamus injured his shoulder in the first of those matches, so the cost of this point outburst could be severe, but at least for now, Sheamus finds himself all alone in 3rd place!

Also near the top of the Wrankings is Brodus Clay, who passed his first real test by triumphing over a very game Miz this week on RAW. If the Funkasaurus maintains his fierce run of success, then he may find himself in contention for Santino Marella's U.S. Title in the near future.

What an encounter that would be!

Our formula and this week's Wrankings, after the jump.

OFFICIAL WRESTLER WRANKINGS FORMULA

ANY WIN = 2 POINTS

US OR INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE BOUT = 1 POINT

WWE OR WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE BOUT = 3 POINTS

NON "BIG 4" PPV = x1.5 BONUS

The wrestler with the highest score at the conclusion of the wrestling season (WrestleMania 29), wins the coveted Wrankings championship! If you need a refresher on the details of the formula or some amazing hypothetical examples of scoring, click here for prior week's columns.
