Rumors of John Cena taking time off from WWE to star in The Marine 3 were apparently greatly exaggerated. Really, did anyone believe that would happen anyway?

Instead, according to the Wrestling Observer, mid-card jobber The Miz will be taking the lead role in the upcoming film, which is slated to begin shooting in June.

That means he'll be getting some time off from TV, which, let's be honest, he's badly been needing. But it's an interesting casting decision, seeing as most WWE fans still look at Miz as the whiny kid from the MTV reality show The Real World.

When you look at Miz do you see a Marine?

I certainly don't but this could do wonders for his pro wrestling career as a repackaging has been in order for a while now. The time away will do him good and creative didn't really have anything for him anyway.
