Wrestler Wrankings - 2012-2013 Season, Week 4

Wrankingslogo_medium

Welcome to Wrestler Wrankings, the weekly sports column where we score and rank the greatest athletes currently gracing the earth: professional wrestlers.

This is the final edition of the Wrankings before Extreme Rules so the big story, of course, lies with the two huge World Championship matches on the card. These will be the first Championship matches to provide the 1.5x PPV bonus, so their results can certainly change the face of the Wrankings.

Of particular note seems to be the potential rise of Chris Jericho. After lying dormant (and, quite frankly, running afoul of the law) for the first few weeks of the season, Jericho made like the lion that he claims to be, roaring forth with a dominating win on RAW over a game Kofi Kingston and he now stands to snag an additional 7.5 points if he is able to defeat CM Punk. Of course, Punk threw a wrench into Jericho's plan by unexpectedly innovating the addition of acting into professional wrestling with his CM Drunk charade. It's entirely possible that Jericho will be off his game thanks to this impressive performance.

Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan and Shamus both stand at a mere 2 points each, but instead of adding to those totals on RAW, Bryan was relegated to crooked officiating and merely increased Mark Henry's commanding point total at Shamus' expense.

Our formula and this week's Wrankings, after the jump.

OFFICIAL WRESTLER WRANKINGS FORMULA

ANY WIN = 2 POINTS

US OR INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE BOUT = 1 POINT

WWE OR WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE BOUT = 3 POINTS

NON "BIG 4" PPV = x1.5 BONUS

SUMMERSLAM, SURVIVOR SERIES, ROYAL RUMBLE = x2 BONUS

WRESTLEMANIA = x3 BONUS

The wrestler with the highest score at the conclusion of the wrestling season (Wrestlemania 29), wins the coveted Wrankings championship!
