CM Punk vs Chris Jericho rematch booked for Extreme Rules on April 29 in a 'Chicago Street Fight'

And now the rematch is set.

CM Punk and Chris Jericho began their feud not long after the Royal Rumble back in January and it has extended all the way until now. Their match at WrestleMania 28 would have easily been the best match on the biggest card all year were it not overshadowed by the Undertaker vs. Triple H classic that came just before it.

Now, they're getting their chance to steal the show again, this time in the rematch at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view (PPV) set to go down on Sun., April 29, 2012, in Punk's hometown of Chicago, Illinois. And they've even made it a "Chicago Street Fight."

Whatever the hell that would be. Most likely a cheap way to get over the fact that they're in Chicago. Except it's not actually Chicago.

Perhaps more intriguing than the match itself is how they will play up the storyline, that Jericho is doing his damnedest to drive Punk to drinking (which runs in his family) while also taking the WWE championship away from him. With the apex of the story seemingly still to come, there's potential for something great and it could very well happen here.

Or it could continue on into May and Over the Limit. We shall see.
