Tonight in L.A. the Revolver Golden God awards took place showcasing the best and most brutal metal bands, hosted by the one and only Chris Jericho. The only award that had absolutely nothing to do with music was the category of MOST METAL ATHLETE. Details of the event AFTER THE JUMP
Here were the nominees:
Gina Carano (MMA fighting)
Brian Deegan (pro motocross)
Evan Longoria (MLB baseball)
Dirk Nowitzki (NBA basketball)
Mitch Petrus (NFL football)
CM Punk (WWE wrestling)
As the headline reads CM Punk won the award, however Jericho came out on stage to "accept" for CM Punk, announcing that Punk could not be there to receive the award. Jericho then promised to make sure punk gets the award, laughed, broke the award over his knee, and threw it on the ground.This is Jericho's third time hosting the event, and Punk's first award. . . . that he will never receive.
