Greatest WrestleMania of all time?
On March 29, 1987, World Wrestling Federation (WWF) held its third annual WrestleMania pay-per-view (PPV) event at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan.
In front of 93,173 rabid pro wrestling fans.
The final attendance has been the source of some controversy, but I think as the above photo indicates, you can't deny there were a lot of friggin' people at WrestleMania III.
However you may feel about the legacy of Hulk Hogan, it's important to recognize the impact of his main event against Andre the Giant. But it wasn't the only memorable match on the card. Randy "Macho Man" Savage and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat also put on a classic.
Those two bouts, from this date in WWF history, after the jump.
