On this date in WWF history: Bart Gunn gets KTFO by Butterbean at WrestleMania XV

Stay connected for news and updates

On March 28, 1999, World Wrestling Federation (WWF) kicked off its WrestleMania XV pay-per-view (PPV) event, emanating live from the First Union Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

While most of the (fond) memories revolve around the championship main event, which culminated in "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's title win over The Rock (while simultaneously sticking it to Vince McMahon and "The Corporation"), there was another bout on the televised card that got its share of attention.

That's because Bart Gunn thought he could box pudgy pugilist Eric Esch in a "Brawl for All" bout that stemmed from circumstances too silly to explain here. Suffice to say Bart was out-gunned in less than a minute, in a bout that also featured a run-in from the San Diego Chicken.

Good times!

Gunn gets buttered and beaned, after the jump.

Alright Cagesiders, Butterbean stiffens Bart Gunn at WrestleMania XV. Did you enjoy it -- or not so much?
