It's hard to keep friends in this business.
Back in 2010, Gran Akuma had worn out his welcome with his F.I.S.T. stablemates, Icarus and Chuck Taylor. After losing a match for the stable, Akuma was attacked by his former friends and booted out of CHIKARA with Johnny Gargano taking his place in the tandem. F.I.S.T. would go one to capture the tag straps. But when Akuma returned to the promotion last November at High Noon, no one was more surprised than Icarus. They collided at The Thirteenth Hat as part of a trial of matches Akuma was going to have to win if he wanted his spot in CHIKARA back.
Also at High Noon, Ophidian turned rudo and sprayed The Osirian Portal leader Amasis with his deadly venom. No one saw the snake's rulebreaker turn coming, least of all Hieracon who stepped inside the ring with his former stablemate at CHIKARA's season 11 opener. It didn't end well for the technico as the deadly snake was able to not only win the match but also take Hieracon's "soul."
Both of these matches featuring good friends turns bitter enemies are highlighted in this week's Podcast-A-Go-Go. Go ahead and have yourself a gander, Cagesiders.
