Our "This date in history" feature finally finishes off its look back at Uncensored, the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) annual pay-per-view (PPV) event that had a stranglehold on the middle of March.

And anytime you get an Uncensored PPV, you get a Hulk Hogan main event.

On March 24, 1996 from Mississippi's Tupelo Coliseum, the Hulkster was teaming up with his old Mega Powers buddy Randy Savage to battle eight men known as "The Alliance to End Hulkamania." That roster included the entire locker room Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Meng, The Barbarian, Lex Luger, Kevin Sullivan, Z-Gangsta (Zeus) and The Ultimate Solution (Jeep Swenson).

The Doomsday Cage consisted of a couple of steel cages stacked on top of each other, with Hogan and Savage fighting their way through each level, Game of Death style. Foreign objects included powder to the eyes, cast-iron frying pans, loaded gloves -- and I think I even saw a toothbrush.

Hogan and Savage (surprise!) defeat eight men and emerge as winners (and almost forget to secure the pinfall). The crowd was as dead as a doornail, as it had been for much of the event.
