Who can you expect to be the WrestleMania 29 headliner in New Jersey next year?

To answer the headline, we don't know yet.

But we might very, very soon.

Last year, the night after WrestleMania 27 where the differences between The Rock and John Cena escalated from verbal to physical, WWE bucked tradition and announced the main event of their biggest show of the year 12 months in advance.

John Cena laid down the challenge on Raw 24 hours after "The Granddaddy of Them All" ended, setting in motion a build unlike any we had seen before. While long, slow burns were common in wrestling's past, they've remained exactly there and it isn't uncommon for an entire storyline to begin and end in only one or two months' time nowadays.

One difference between the Cena and Rock feud and those of old is the latter is no longer a full-time wrestler. The Rock has amped up his appearances in the weeks leading up to April 1's WrestleMania 28 event but pre-recorded videos were the norm for his part of the feud beforehand. A dismal appearance in the Survivor Series main event aside, The Rock hasn't laced up his boots since WrestleMania XX.

Due to this, the feud has hit plenty of snags and road bumps. Two full-time wrestlers might have been able to pull it off more smoothly and we might get to see if that prediction is accurate.

Triple H's favorite unreliable news source has come across some very interesting news. The Wrestling Observer is reporting WrestleMania 29's main event, just like its predecessor, could be announced on the Raw the evening after next Sunday's pay-per-view (PPV).

Who'll take part? It could be The Rock who has reportedly already agreed to wrestle or it could even be Triple H or The Undertaker, both of whom have given no indication of hanging up their boots. Perhaps a certain "Bionic Redneck" can shake off the ring rust if only for one night. Of course, John Cena and CM Punk could also be candidates.

Of course, this is all coming from one of those pesky dirt sheets and we all know how unreliable they can be.

Regardless, let the wild speculation begin, Cagesiders.
