In the world of professional wrestling, almost nothing you see and hear is the truth. Half of it are outright lies and the other half is a mixture of truth and misinformation.
So when the carnival barker themselves announce something, it should be taken with an even bigger grain of salt than usual.
Regardless, WWE.com is reporting WrestleMania 28 headliner John Cena was involved in a two-car accident this morning in Philadelphia when the vehicle he was ridng in was struck from behind.
Luckily for Cena and his loved ones, the WWE Universe and WWE stockholders everywhere, no injuries were reported at the time so it appears any repercussions this will have on his match with The Rock on April 1 in Miami will be psychological and not physical.
It is curious, though, WWE would announce this -- if it is indeed legitimate -- on their website. If it was a simple fender bender, one might think they would brush it under the rug to avoid any rumors starting about Cena possibly dropping out of his WrestleMania obligation.
Of course, that might be exactly what Vince McMahon and company is hoping for. A little "will he or won't he?" drama could be exactly what the doctor ordered to boost the pay-per-view (PPV) buyrates in the final weeks leading up to the event.
What do you think, Cagesiders? Fact or fiction? Or, as per usual in the wrestling world, a little in between?
