WrestleMania 28, scheduled for April 1, 2012, at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida, will indeed feature a celebrity appearing in an actual match. It's just not the celebrity so many had hoped for.

Instead of former NBA great Shaquille O'Neal locking horns with Big Show as was rumored for some time, Extra host Maria Menounos will occupy some space on the card when she teams up with Kelly Kelly as the babyface team to oppose the heel faction of Diva's Champion Beth Phoenix and the dastardly Eve Torres.

This after an angle was shot on Extra that saw the heels confront the babyfaces and badda bing, badda boom, they'll get some time at the biggest show of the year.

I'm not sure how much crossover appeal there is between the audience that typically tunes into pro wrestling and the folks who watch Extra but any press is good press and even if it accounts for an extra 20,000 buys, it will be worth it. Plus, it's not like they're going to get much more than a few minutes anyway, right?
