In an effort to continue pushing their company website, as well as the Twitter accounts of on-air talent, WWE has once again made a semi-major announcement regarding an upcoming match.
This time they revealed that R-Truth, who had gone on a kayfabe campaign on Twitter to get on Teddy Long's team for the 12-man tag team match at WrestleMania 28, has, in fact, been added to said team.
From WWE.com:
SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long revealed that R-Truth would join Captain Santino Marella and four other yet-to-be-confirmed Superstars on Team Teddy in the squad's anticipated 12-Man Tag Team Match against Team Johnny - led by Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis - at WrestleMania XXVIII. The high-stakes confrontation will decide whether Laurinaitis or Long will oversee both brands once the dust has settled at The Show of Shows on April 1.
Truth and Long are a match made in heaven, really. They could waste an entire hour of WWE television finding new ways to put the word "playa" into sentences it has no business being in.
Nonetheless, this is an obvious choice. Expect Kofi Kingston to be announced this Monday night on Raw. With two weeks to go until 'Mania, it seems silly to drag out the announcement of who exactly will be on both teams come April 1 in Miami.
Unless they've got a surprise or two up their sleeve to draw last minute interest. Maybe?
