The answer to the question my Cageside Seats colleague Sergio Hernandez posed earlier today "Is the Money in the Bank match headed back to WrestleMania 28?" is an unfortunate no, as WWE has changed their minds once again. Over a month ago, WWE decided to scrap Money In The Bank as their annual July PPV event, replacing it with TLC and putting Vengeance in the December slot, likely because the plan then was to do the gimmick match at WrestleMania 28. Now, Dave Meltzer reports that the Money In The Bank match is officially off the WrestleMania 28 card and it is now back to being a separate PPV event:
--The Money in the Bank match is officially off WrestleMania this year and back as the main of the 7/15 PPV. That show also has been moved from Las Vegas to Phoenix.
I imagine TLC will be moved back to December and Vengeance will be the pay-per-view event chosen to be eliminated, as the Tables, Ladders and Chairs gimmick PPV has traditionally drawn better than the generic Vengence.
Replacing the Money In The Bank match on the WrestleMania 28 card is expected to be multiple man tag team match featuring a team of wrestlers representing Raw GM John Laurinaitis against Smackdown GM Teddy Long's team, with the winning side possibly earning their General Manager control of the opposite brand. This should give the likes of Mark Henry, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, The Miz, David Otunga and Santino Marella, most of whom would have been chosen to be in the ladder match for the briefcase, an important spot on the show and keep them happy. Of course, their match may be short changed and only given a few minutes come the big day, making it hard for any of those performers to make an impact on the show, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose.
