Revival Pro Wrestling Press Release with WNR 2-15-12 Card
The following statement has been issued from the office of the commissioner:
First of all, on behalf of the board of directors and this federation, we apologize. Our decisions have brought us to where we stand at this point and we are to blame for opening RPW's doors to this demented psycho.
RPW wrestlers, referees, staff members and fans at shows, home and around the world who have enjoyed RPW's current direction, we take full responsibility for this unstable man and none of us want to see our efforts and progress fall in the hands of a man who admittedly, only wants to create pain and end the careers of everyone here in the RPW forever.
...continued after the jump...
To ensure this animal does not show up at our upcoming Wednesday Night Revival, our lawyers have drafted a contract that Abernathy has already signed. At the End of the World, there will be a one on one matchup between the man or woman who could become RPWs savior and the abomination known as Abernathy. It will be a falls count anywhere, no holds barred match. If our representative wins, Abernathy's contract will be voided and he will be legally bound to never appear in a RPW ring or arena again. If Abernathy wins, he will gain complete control over this organization.
Let me assure you, we have had our legal team working around the clock to find an alternative solution to this debacle, the contract for Abernathy simple cannot be broken and this challenge is our only shot at preventing a complete and total meltdown of Revival Pro Wrestling. With that being said, the ripples felt around the RPW from our change of direction will be historic. First, because of the violence displayed by Abernathy on our weekly programming, some sponsors have decided to pull out of their deals citing a breach of contract. This means we have had a severe blow to the operating budget. Since our priority is taking care of our performers, Revival After Dark and one of the weekly Dirt Sheets will be discontinued until further notice. The Dirt Sheet will now go live on Sundays and a weekly bulletin will announce the next weeks card, usually on Thursdays. Regarding this week's Wednesday Night Revival, due to our contractual obligation to put Abernathy in the Main Event at the End of the World, the board has decided we will crown our first RPW Heavyweight Champion THIS WEEK, in the Main Event of WNR! John "The Brand" Brandenburg will face Ian Jones for the honor of holding the prestigious RPW Heavyweight Championship! Let me take this opportunity to share the rest of the card as it stands now, as always, this is subject to change and more matches may be added. Ronnie Reynolds vs "The Grappler" Gary Grapplin “Simple” John Sullivan vs Aron Scythe
Magenta Moon and Jafaar al-Sultan vs Brett Bannion and Leanna Morningside.
Ironman title match - Mr Nice Guy vs Hakai Dragon (C)
Thank you to the faithful for believing in the product we are putting together. We will continue to produce the best quality program from week to week and Abernathy be damned, if the next two weeks are the last ones for this federation, they will be the best in the history of sports entertainment and professional wrestling. The future is now for the Revival and even though the End of the World may be coming, I challenge each and every one of you to step up to the challenge and each of you has two weeks to step up and show you have what it takes to be the savior of this great company. I am counting on each of you. Thank you and I wish each of you the best. Sincerely, Jack Dobbs RPW Commissioner
