Video: This week's CHIKARA Podcast-A-Go-Go featuring 'Queen of Wrestling' Sara Del Rey
CHIKARA is back with the newest edition of their weekly Podcast-A-Go-Go and the "Queen of Wrestling" herself, Sara Del Rey, takes center stage in episode 302.
Her match from November's "High Noon" internet pay-per-view (iPPV) is highlighted. In the bout, she took on former stablemate Jakob Hammermeier from Die Bruderschaft des Kreuzes (BDK). Del Rey and BDK certainly have a complicated history and it all came to a head at the ECW Arena that evening.
Having joined the stable during the season eight season finale "Three Fisted Tales", Del Rey -- and partner Daizee Haze -- fought alongside the likes of Ares, Claudio Castagnoli, Tim Donst and the monster known as Tursas.
For nearly two years, Del Rey proudly considered herself an equal among her BDK stablemates until both her and Castagnoli found themselves in the "12 Large: Summit" round robin tournament to decide CHIKARA's first ever Grand Champion.
Del Rey entered the ring on the second evening of "Chikarasaurus Rex" expecting to have a spirited yet fair contest against her friend, her brother in arms. Instead, Castagnoli commanded her to lay down and allow him to score the pinfall so he could advance that much further in the tournament.
The "Queen of Wrestling" refused and took the fight to her much larger opponent. After nearly 15 minutes of action, Del Rey scored the unlikely pinfall over "Double C." The Swiss wrestler snapped and attacked his opponent after the bell. Haze got the worse of it, getting handed a beating that put her on the shelf indefinitely. Del Rey, obviously, resigned from the stable and made it her mission to destroy them by year's end.
She continued on in the "12 Large: Summit" while also taking DBK apart one by one. In September, at "Odyssey of the Twelfth Talisman," she choked out Ares. A month later at "Maiden Flight of the Great Condor," she defeated Tursas by disqualification after Hammermeier and Donst interfered. She would get revenge on the big beast the day before "High Noon" at "Cibernetico: The Animated Series" by eliminating him with her patented axe kick. The match ended with her and Donst standing toe-to-toe and Del Rey took him out to win the whole thing.
That left only Hammermeier to be dealth with. Check it out after the jump.
Del Rey is back in action on 2/25 at "A Death Worse Than Fate" when she takes on "Marchie Archie" himself Archibald Peck.

The 3 main ladies of ROH— Sara, Daizee, and Ms. Chif— are 3 of the 5 top talented ladies wrestlers going. I don’t know why WWE hasn’t picked them up, because they are quite attractive & have skills. I think they stay away from TnA, which is smart for them, they make more money on the indys.

Yeah but...
If they never jump to TNA, they’ll never get the chance to be called a “bitch” every other sentence by their peers!
Honestly, if I were a female wrestler, I’d rather work for Vince than Dixie.

I agree with that. They make more money, they’re respected the same, just in different capacities. TnA gives them longer matches & let’s them perform more, but have to get treated like catty women fighting over the same john. WWe gives them 1 minute matches and nothing about their division means anything.
