That was awesome! (clap clap clapclapclap): John Morrison busts out the parkour
So a couple of weeks ago, everyone went googoo gaga nuts over Kofi Kingston's walking handstand at the 2012 Royal Rumble. And with good reason. It was amazing. The Rumble has one rule and one rule only: once both of your feet touch the mat, you're eliminated.
Blowing a huge Ghana-sized hole in the Rumble's rule was Kingston who definitely was touching the mat although his feet were nowhere near it.
It reminded me of an equally insane move from the previous year. During the 2011 Royal Rumble, the now Future Endeavored John Morrison was doing his best to main event WrestleMania when he was tossed from the apron on what appeared to be a collision course with the security barrier.
But yeah right. Morrison is the "King of Parkour" or didn't you know?
You coulda been a contenda, kid.
Equally impressive is the jump from the barrier to the ringsteps which Morrison lands like Kerri Strug.

For me, the Morrison Spiderman jump was more impressive than Kofi's handstand
For Morrison to pull this off, he had one chance and he had to be perfect (which he was). Kofi’s was insanely difficult too, but with how he was getting thrown out of the ring, he had more time to set himself up for the headstand.
Agreed
Also, standing on your hands seems to me at least a violation of the spirit of the rules. I mean, I know it is wrestling, so who gives a crap if it looks cool, but…I don’t know…

It's both feet
not hands. Thus meaning he didn’t break the rules

If HBK...
Can get away with only one foot touching, I’m cool with Kofi doing a handstand.

By the same logic,
you can land on your side, but as long as one foot is up in the air, and you crawl back in the ring without it touching the ground, you’re not out of the match.
Standing on your hands, even just hitting the ground with one foot a la Shawn Michaels, I don’t like it. Over the rope, any part of you touches the floor, that should be it.
But, that’;s just me.

The rule says two feet
and it has been that since the beginning of the rumble

Yes, I know that
Standing on your hands, or landing on one foot, or landing on your side but making sure that your two feet don’t hit the ground, the spirit of the rule is still being broken, and it makes it all feel cheap- especially when things like one foot touching the ground are used fairly frequently. If something like one foot touching the ground was used once, when Shawn Michaels did it, and it remained a point of controversy, I’d be cool with that. The one foot touching the ground, it’s used at least once a year or so now (or it seems that way). Like I said, once you’re over the rope, any part of you touches the floor, that should be the end of it, you’re out.

it's essentially the same thing as Jesse's history pieces.
Morrison’s was more impressive than Kingstons.
You have been banned from Bloody Elbow.
I don’t know what you said, but I don’t like you.

"Blowing a huge Ghana-sized hole in the Rumble's rule"
I saw what you did there.
This was definitely one of the cooler looking spots I’ve seen.
