Fantasy-esque Royal Rumble Idea

I’m a big fan of fantasy sports and the contests we have here on Cageside Seats. I came up with what I think would be a fun idea for the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV. It follows similar parameters to a fantasy sports salary cap league. Each participant will have a certain amount of money at their disposal (let’s say $100,000). Each wrestler will be given a dollar value based upon their estimated impact on the Rumble. A quick example would be:

  • John Cena - $30,000
  • Ryback - $28,000
  • Sheamus - $27,000
  • Kane - $24,000
  • Etc…

Each member has to create a team of wrestlers (maybe 5) that falls within the range of the $100,000 salary. Here is my idea for point tally:

  • 1 point per elimination.
  • 3 points bonus for longest in the Rumble
  • 3 points bonus for most eliminations
  • 5 points for Rumble Winner

This is just a quick blueprint of my idea, but I think it could work and be a lot of fun. There are some issues such as surprise entrants and what not but I think if we give a value to everyone we think will be in (if they're not confirmed then they'll be less money giving them a higher risk/reward), then it could work out. Let me know what you guys think!
