Pointless Top 10 - Part 3

The best thing about top ten lists, is they are completely objective, and everyone always agrees on them. Wait, what? I thought I'd do a top ten of my personal favorite matches, since we are at the final four point of our greatest matches tournament. These really are just my favorites, so need to tell me I'm wrong, because I already know that. These are all WWF/WWE matches as I've never really been a fan of any other organizations for a vested amount of time, save WCW for about 3 months in '98.

Quick Recap:
10. Ken Shamrock vs Undertaker - Backlash '99
9. 6 Man Hell in a Cell - Armageddon 2000
8. Hogan vs Andre -Wrestlemania 3
7. Mr. Perfect vs Bret Hart - King of the Ring '93

Here's today's duo:

6. Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker - Badd Blood '97

This match deserves to be number one, it truly does, but it isn't probably because I'm an idiot or because I didn't see it until years later. It has everything, great wrestling, great in-match storytelling, a hardcore aspect, and a complete surprise. The match had two months and change of a buildup after the events of Summerslam that year, and it not only lived up, but went beyond the buildup. And then Kane happened, they were hinting at various events of Kane's arrival and when they pulled it out on a somewhat obscure PPV, it paid off big time. Enjoy.

5. Austin vs Rock - Wrestlemania 15 and 17

I couldn't decide between the two, so I didn't. Both were great, I'd give the 17 bout a little nod for psychology, in ring action, and better overall crispness. However, the 15 match at the time, was my sole purpose for living in 8th grade. I sort of pulled for Rock, but still cheered for Stone Cold, I can't remember ever really doing that in a match before. My friends and I were all split on the outcome, but were happy none-the-less. I still believe these two matches won't be matched as far as star power is concerned. The only one that equals it is Savage/Hogan from WM5 (and other than Jesse Ventura and Monsoon that match kinda sucked) other than that you aren't ever going to have to hotter performers pitting off against each other. It's kind of weak to put two matches in one slot, but hey, who the hell is reading these anyhow?
