Beth Phoenix explains decision to leave WWE

Beth Phoenix had her contract expire just days ago and she wrestled her last match on Monday Night Raw this past week. But why did she leave?

At some point, your life has to be about someone other than you.

That's the realization now former WWE Diva Beth Phoenix came to before her contract expired just this past week at the end of October. She wrestled her final match for the company (for now) on Monday Night Raw against AJ Lee, as she was (kayfabe) fired by Vickie Guerrero shortly after.

On her Twitter account, she explained her reason for leaving:

"Thank (you) for the outpouring of love and support. I'm overwhelmed by those that have expressed appreciation for my career. I always tried my best ... My family waited patiently for 10 years while I chased my dreams. I decided it was time to come home to put family first. That's the reason."

Nothing more admirable than that.

The picture above is her standing with Adam Copeland, who wrestled under the name Edge, just before walking out for her last match. Her being off the road means she can help him recover from his pending neck surgery.

We'll miss her, of course, but no one on Earth can fault her for her decision.
