Cody Rhodes took a bad back body drop on WWE Main Event, which aired last night (Nov. 14, 2012) but was taped before SmackDown two days ago, and suffered a concussion, putting his Survivor Series status in doubt.

The main event of last night's (Nov. 14, 2012) episode of WWE Main Event featured a tag team championship match pitting Team Hell No against The Rhodes Scholars.

All was going swimmingly until Cody Rhodes took a back body drop from Kane and landed awkwardly on his shoulder. It looked bad when it happened and Rhodes was noticeably different for the remainder of the match. Here's how our very own Nolan Howell described it in his live blog of the action:

Rhodes zombies into his corner and tags in Sandow. Sandow earns a nearfall on Bryan. Rhodes looks legitimately hurt after the back bodydrop. He landed on his shoulder and head. Suppose we will see.

As it turns out, that's exactly the case.

According to WWE.com, Rhodes suffered a shoulder injury and a concussion. From the interview with Dr. Sampson:

"He landed on his right shoulder. (He's got) some strained muscles on his back shoulder, he definitely has a concussion. We're going to do some tests tonight and tomrrow we'll find out more about what's actually going on."

This puts his status in doubt for Survivor Series this Sunday night in Indianapolis, though he is in a traditional five-on-five elimination match, so if they use him, he can be protected and/or eliminated quickly so they don't have to change plans too much.

Stay tuned.
