Howdy folks, I did a FanPost a few weeks ago separating what makes sense and what did not in the WWE Universe. I figured I'd do a few until I forget, or nobody cares anymore. I'm going to go through five points that make sense and five related things that do not make sense, I'll be doing them mid-feud and right after the PPV.

First off, I'd like to say that Hell in Cell wasn't my cup of tea, I thought the PPV started good, then got slow and never really got good again. I'd give it a "C" grade at best, "D" at worst. Alright 'nuff splaining 's-go:

What Makes Sense:

Trying to make a new star from scratch like Ryback. I understand their wanting to create superstars rather than signing older ones who get a nostalgia pop and don't have quite the dedication. He has the look and attitude of a guy who could really get a good buzz with kids and middle-schoolers.

What Doesn't Make Sense:

Doing it with Ryback right here and now. Dude isn't ready yet. I'm sorry, he just isn't. And until he figures out at least 5-10 more moves I can't really take him seriously as a title contender. I'm not saying he won't ever be ready, but he certainly wasn't last night, and even though he was crisp, it was still only the three limited moves he can do. Other wrestlers have been limited in move sets as well, but generally have other things to fall back on (like mic skills or brute strength). Botching Tensai and Heyman (though I guess that doesn't "count", it still lingers in my mind) on his finisher, kind of brings out the skeptic in my mind when it comes to his "brute strength".

Also, what doesn't make sense in the Ryback department is having him do a finishing move THAT HE PREVIOUSLY BOTCHED to your current champion -- on a steel cage, no less!

Sure, it would've been cool with an established star, but knowing his previous botches I actually became a little scared at that moment.

What Makes Sense:

Ziggler not cashing in his money in the bank. You don't guarantee something as a heel and then come through with that exact plan. Hopefully, the title changes hands a time or two and we get more of a "shocking" cash-in.

What Doesn't Make Sense:

That they showed him once during the match, and promptly never bothered to mentioned it again. Even when Big Show won, they never even pulled the cliche "IS ZIGGLER GOING TO CASH IN HIS MITB?" hysteria. If you build up a "guarantee", you could at least sell it like Ziggler is chickening out or something.

What Makes Sense:

Kofi Kingston keeping the Intercontinental championship after just winning just over a week ago. Enough said.

What Doesn't Make Sense:

Caring about the Intercontinental championship right now. Seriously.

What Makes Sense:

Having Randy Orton win a match that nobody cared for, or even wanted. It was actually the best match of the night in my opinion, Orton and Del Rio traded some spots you could tell they had been saving for this match. Why they were saving spots for this meaningless match, is another story. If you are going to have a meaningless feud open the show, ya might as well make it a good match and send the face home with a win for the kiddies.

What Doesn't Make Sense:

Not giving Randy Orton a major push, like tonight on RAW. You are really short on top face talent right now, you need to fill the gaps between Rock's return and another possible signing or two. Orton isn't great on the mic, but he has the look about him and enough wrestling skills to be considered a top face, if only on the tweener and the ladies side a bit, perhaps. I wasn't watching during his top moments with the company, so I don't know how he does in that role, but it seems like they should be giving him a top spot, and soon.

There was the fact he was recently suspended, I know, and then busy filming a movie and all that, so they couldn't fully commit to him; but you could start tonight. Wouldn't you have rather seen Orton vs Punk in that Hell in a Cell match? I know I would have.

What Makes Sense:

Having Michael Cole be the middleman. He always filled that role well before, and unfortunately, it took a heart attack to almost force WWE's hand to having him return to that role. As having him be a heel after his great post heart attack updates wouldn't have worked. He does a better job of interacting in that role, and his limited sense of humor (he just isn't funny, ever), doesn't overtake the broadcast.

What Doesn't Make Sense:

Making JBL the complete troll. I liked when he was trolling a bit and also openly rooting for the heel. WWE seems to not want a heel commentator, just a guy who is annoying. He was pretty good last night, but he was much better in his first couple weeks back when they let him openly root for the bad guy - Jesse Ventura style. I don't think they want to degrade their top faces with a commentator, but that's kind of a shame. You can bring much more heat for a guy if you have that "annoying commentator" rooting for him and dismissing the good guy's good deeds.

Well, see ya in a few weeks to catch up on what makes sense and what doesn't on the halfway point to Survivor Series.
